LIHEAP has been designed to assist low-income families in Spartanburg and Cherokee Counties with their energy costs. This program is available both in the winter and summer to help with heating and cooling needs.
Applications for Direct Assistance are taken from fall until winter for heating needs, and from spring until summer for cooling needs.
The Emergency Crisis Intervention Program is available for low income families who may find themselves without heat or cooling in danger of having their services disconnected, and are without funds to pay their energy bill.
The Duke Power Project Share, Foundations for the Carolina and Advance South Carolina serves families in need of assistance and is funded by Duke Energy and private donations.
Piedmont Natural Gas Project Heat also serves families in need of heating assistance and is funded by Piedmont Natural Gas and private donations.
